Altitude Gin has been awarded a Gold Medal in the London Dry Gin category at this year’s Gin Masters – a competition organised by drinks industry bible The Spirits Business and judged by a panel of leading spirits specialists from across the UK to reward the finest gin brands in the world.
Created to recognise “masters in their fields”, all entries into The Global Spirits Masters are judged completely blind and the London Dry category is one of the most highly contested in the competition. To be awarded a Gold Medal, spirits must score between 80-89 points out of 100.
The judges were particularly impressed by Altitude Gin’s quality and flavour describing its true ‘classic style’.
Melita Kiely, editor of The Spirits Business remarked, “Through these awards we want to recognise the people and brands who continue to push the boundaries of innovation....from new product development to sustainable efforts, there is much to be celebrated across the spirits industry.”
Altitude Alpine Dry Gin is a made using a unique combination of five traditional gin botanicals and three that have been inspired by the alpine wonderland. Altitude mingles the fresh sharpness of pine, coriander and citrus with the fruity yet floral flavours of myrtille and elderflower. A beguiling blend evocative of an alpine meadow, with the earthy aftertaste of angelica root lingering on the finish.
Kirstine Newton, Altitude Gin’s co-founder said, “We’re immensely proud of our Altitude Gin and are thrilled that it’s been recognised in this prestigious competition. Altitude has earned its place as a favourite in drinks cabinets across the country, a versatile ingredient of all the best gin cocktails and the classic G&T. We have an ambition to be the most talked about mountain gin on the planet and for the planet, and our Gin Lovers are helping to protect the Alps with every sip!”
