Our story

It all started for us at Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, where we created our first batch of Altitude Gin in 2017. With a borrowed still in a wooden mazot at the foot of Mont Blanc, we created something spectacular. Local gin soirees followed, the Chamoniards were captivated, and it was time to share Altitude Gin with the world. 

We also wanted to share our love of the mountains. We all know they need a hand right now, so we’re committed to giving back and joining forces with others to help preserve and protect them. We all want to enjoy what’s in our bottles today, but we also want our planet’s peaks to see new adventures and even braver footprints tomorrow.

Tim Welch

Chamonix

Tim headed to Chamonix 14 years ago where he co-founded Ten80 Events. He has a keen passion for mountain sports and the occasional Mont Blanc ascent. Tim used to race Austin-Healy cars and won the European title in 1995.

Kirstine Newton

London

Berkshire-born Kirstine, lives in London and has spent the last two decades perfecting her craft within the world's best media agencies, currently specialising in the acceleration of DTC brands. A true entrepreneur, this Chamonix-inspired brand has been brought to life on all aspects and to a gin glass near you.

Pat Venning

London

Pat has over 20 years in the drinks industry, most recently with Pernod Ricard where he was Marketing Director for over 8 years. He has a passion for challenger brands, entrepreneurialism and e-commerce. Pat is a keen skier, cyclist and rugby referee, but is happiest at home with an Altitude Gin and a Three Cents Pink Grapefruit Soda in hand.
